LIZ DESCHENES (Boston, Mass, 1966) vive y trabaja en Nueva York desde comienzos de los años 90. Esbozó los contornos de su práctica con la muestra expositiva Fotografía sobre la fotografía en la Galería Andrew Kreps en el 2000. Con ella exploraba los diversos medios de la mecánica fotográfica con las diversas técnicas de impresión y visualización. La monocromía, recuperación de técnicas y maneras pre-fotográficas, el cuestionamiento del momento decisivo y las liberación de las responsabilidades del medio son temas que trata con cada proyecto.

Entre sus muestras individuales destacamos las siguientes: MASS MoCA, North Adams, MA (2015); Gallery 7, Walker Art Center, Minneapolis, MN Stereographs #1-4(Rise / Fall), Miguel Abreu Gallery, New York (2014); Secession, Vienna, Austria (2012). Entre sus colectivas se encuentran: Carl Andre, Liz Deschenes, Richard Prince, R. H. LIZ DESCHENES (Boston, Mass, 1966) lives and works in New York since the early 90s. She outlined the contours of her practice with the exhibition at Andrew Kreps Gallery in 2000. In this show she explored the diverse means of photographic mechanical with various printing techniques and visualization.The monochromy, the recovery of pre-photographic techniques and ways, the questioning of the decisive moment and the release of the responsibilities of the photography are issues around she deals with in her projects.
